- Balance your checkbook with CheX. This fast, easy-to-use checkbook
- manager lets you enter checks by categories, sort items by date, print
- your own checks, install password protection, and view as many as three

- check, CheX can figure it out in a flash.

- file again. This program can search an entire hard disk for files by
- filename (DOS wildcards are accepted), date, or size. For example, you
- can specify a file with the extension DOC created within the last ten
- days with a file size less than 5K. Whereis even searches through
- archives with ARC, LZH, ZOO, PAK, ZIP, or PKA extensions.

- With HexEdit, you can see what's really in your COM and EXE files, and
- you can change the information (to correct spelling errors in program
- files without recompiling them, for example). HexEdit can search and
- replace, copy and delete ranges, move to the beginning or end of a file,
- calculate the 16-bit checksum of a file, and go to an address within a
- file. Note: If you run HexEdit from a floppy-based system, you may not
- be able to use the shell function.

- can't be run from the menu. After you install the program, exit to DOS
- and enter STACK to run it. Read the documentation file STACK.DOC

- Looking for a fast way to read text files without loading your word
- processor? Tired of pressing Ctrl-S to stop text from scrolling
- offscreen with the DOS TYPE command? You need TurboTYPE (which first
- appeared in the July 1989 issue), a text lister that gives you the power
- to move forward or backward by line, by screenful, or by smooth
- scrolling. To run the program, enter T drive:path\filename at the DOS
- prompt. TurboTYPE appears on every disk, so you'll always have the
- latest version.
